Could It Happen To Us?

For all of us who say “It could never happen” or “Just another false cry of, ‘wolf at the door’..”

Let us remember history and try to imagine what those who were caught by surprise were thinking, just before sudden calamity came.
One portion of a documentary showed a very peaceful scene from a bridge at sunset; with the promise of a long, waited for, summer in Saint Petersburg Russia taken on June 21, 1941.  The narrator was telling how everything was so quite and peaceful after several school graduation ceremonies had taken place; so peaceful as all was good.

The next day, June 22,1941, the largest land invasion in history took place as over three million Germans invaded Russia leading to the death of 27,000,000 Russians.

We wonder about today; are we entering a whole new mind set; “A single death is a tragedy; a million deaths is a statistic.” A quote often attributed to Stalin.

As I read the Bible’s account of the wars recorded, the causes and certainty of repetitive outcomes; I can come to no other conclusion than that we are about to have our “wake up call”. Hopefully it is measured with Mercy and we make some changes.

The streets of LA are a living warning of:  “Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.” Galatians 6:7.

We, as a nation, have made some very wrong decisions and we see the results on the streets. We lost our moral compass and have failed our people and ourselves.

We must never forget: While there is life there is hope.

“Therefore say thou unto them, Thus saith the LORD of hosts; Turn ye unto me, saith the LORD of hosts, and I will turn unto you, saith the LORD of hosts.”
Zechariah 1:3
